STAGING PROTOTYPE — ReleaseRadar is a staged prototype. Nothing here is live, no real accounts, no real payments. All figures and examples on this page are illustrative unless tagged.

For builders & subcontractors

That 5–10% of your contract sum [likely] isn't gone. It's just sitting there because nobody reminded you.

ReleaseRadar keeps a ledger of every retention held against your jobs, nudges you at 30, 7 and 0 days before release is due, and drafts the demand letter when the holder stalls. You enter each job once. We remember.

01 — THE LEAK

Theft by forgetting

You finished the job. You moved to the next site. The defects liability period ended months ago — and your retention is still sitting with the head contractor. Not because they fought you for it. Because you never asked.

01

Dates scattered across inboxes and diaries

Retention release dates live in contract PDFs, email threads and memory. Nobody has them all in one place, so nobody watches them.

02

The DLP ends. Nothing happens.

Holders don't chase you to collect your own money. Every quiet month past the release date is cash you could have banked.

03

Drafting a demand letter takes longer than the reminder should

When you finally remember, you dig out the contract, check the dates, and draft from scratch. ReleaseRadar has the letter ready from your contract's own terms — you just review and send.

02 — HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Then we watch.

1

Register the job once

Project, contract, retention %, holder, practical completion date, defects liability period length. About five minutes per job.

2

We watch the calendar

Automatic reminders at 30 days, 7 days and release day. If the holder stalls, the ladder escalates: polite demand, firm demand, then a solicitor referral.

3

Review-and-send demand letters

Drafted against your contract's own terms — your dates, your amounts, your set-off position. Nothing goes out without your explicit review and send.

We don't automate what we can't verify. Our letters do not invoke payment-claim statutes — the timing rules depend on your specific contract, and we won't automate what we can't verify. That's what your solicitor is for.

03 — THE LEDGER

Your retention, on one screen

Below is a staged demo of the ledger view — three synthetic jobs, illustrative figures only. Your real ledger holds your real contracts, values and counterparties, and none of it is used for any other purpose.

Staged demo data — illustrative figures only, not real jobs or real money. Figures tagged: [verified 2026-09-28] for facts checked against sources; [likely] for reasonable arithmetic or standard industry practice; [unverified] where we simply don't know yet.

04 — PRICING

Less than a site coffee run, per job

One recovered retention covers years of the plan. One recovered $3,000 retention pays for roughly five years of the Pro plan [likely — arithmetic, $49 × 60 = $2,940].

05 — HONEST BOUNDARIES

What we are. What we aren't.

ReleaseRadar will

  • ✓Hold every retention in one ledger and watch each release date.
  • ✓Nudge you at 30, 7 and 0 days — and draft the demand letter when the holder stalls.
  • ✓Draft from your contract's own terms: your dates, your amounts, your set-off position.
  • ✓Refuse bespoke contracts it can't model, and surface the clause for manual review instead of guessing.

ReleaseRadar will not

  • ✕Give legal, financial or professional advice. We are not lawyers.
  • ✕Send anything on your behalf. Every letter requires your explicit review and send.
  • ✕Invoke payment-claim statutes in letters — the timing rules are too fact-specific to automate safely.
  • ✕Contact head contractors, or represent you in any way.
Known limits, stated plainly. We can't verify when you actually sent a letter — the escalation ladder runs on your attestation, logged in an audit trail. An "undisputed" set-off is your characterisation, and the letter acknowledges it explicitly so you see what you're conceding. And when any in-DLP defect is open, we hold the whole release — conservative by design, pending solicitor confirmation.

06 — FAQ

Fair questions

Is this legal advice?
No. ReleaseRadar provides administrative reminders and draft correspondence based on information you supply. It is not legal, financial or professional advice. Release triggers depend on your specific contract terms — verify dates against your contract before relying on them, and get legal advice before relying on any letter.
What happens when the holder disputes a set-off?
The engine flags the job for manual review and points you to a solicitor rather than drafting around a disputed set-off. We won't guess at disputed money.
What if my contract has custom release terms?
We surface the clause and stop — bespoke contracts are refused by the engine rather than interpreted. Standard-form subcontracts (AS4902/4903/4906-style) get the default defects-liability model, which is a convention, not a rule, so always confirm against your contract.
What if the holder is insolvent?
Demand letters are not sent to holders in external administration — the product escalates to a solicitor instead, because enforcement during voluntary administration risks breaching the moratorium on creditor proceedings (Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), ss 440D, 440F) [verified 2026-09-28].
Do you keep my contract data private?
Your ledger holds contract values and counterparty details — commercial-in-confidence. This prototype uses synthetic data only. A live version would carry an Australian data residency statement and a retention/deletion policy, and would not train models on your contract text without consent.
What do you guarantee I'll recover?
Nothing. Success depends on your data accuracy and counterparty behaviour. We guarantee the reminders, the drafts, and the refusal to guess — not the outcome.

Your retention is out there. Start watching it.
